Welcome to the podcast BLENDING THE FAMILY

*** Warning This Episode Uses Adult Language***

My first day at the “dreaded day job” I met this guy named Scott. Turns out that he and I would be working in the same department and became fast friends.

Scott I can say you are a friend?

One morning Scott and I had to go to another office to pick up one of our work laptops. While having casual conversation we both realized our love for the movie “The Blues Brothers” and of course we each had to top each other with knowing lines from the movie.

He was my go to person at work because we just clicked. It was a bromance made in well, dreaded day job heaven.

Please help me push him to write his book that he has been working on for EVER.

This episode is a bit long but we do talk about subjects that have been on this podcast before:

  • Blended Families
  • Relationships
  • Work issues
  • Parents and our relationship with them
  • Writing
  • Faith

Scott is just a great human being and it was so much fun having someone sitting across from me here in the home office VS a Skype video. He reminds me a lot of my dad in the sense of being a person who encourages you to do your best. That is why we need to get him to write his book.

To those of you reading this from the day job, I do miss seeing you. Thank you for all of your support and if you are offended of anything I say F YOU :)

This was so much fun and I hope you the listener get a sense of the fun it was just talking.

This episode is sponsored by the book “Ten Tips On How To Survive Your Parent’s Divorce.” Do you know of a child who is to young for them to express themselves? **Warning** There was "adult" words used on this episode.

This was a very different episode for me. My guest has been a friend for close to 10 years. Brett “Zach” Zachman is more than just a friend he truly is one of my brothers. At one point in my life for example: I had no health insurance and with Zach’s help that changed for the better.

I really cannot do an introduction to fit such a great human. This was what he sent me as for his bio and again it does not really do justice other than he does have “two wonderful sons.”

“Brett Zachman is single, divorced father of two wonderful teenage sons. By day, he is a Senior Vice President with Five Rings Financial. By night, he is the Founder of BeMen.”

This was a very honest conversation and we talk about topics that are in the news that I never thought I would speak on.

Please check out the BeMen website and think about asking Zach to help you create a BeMen chapter in your town.

What another fun time with a great guest. Satya Beneventi is a parenting coach but you will hear some of the amazing things she is getting ready to launch.

Plus you get to understand more of where the name Satya comes from.

One of my mentors Steven Petersen interviewed Satya and after listening to the two of them I wanted to have her on my podcast.

You will learn a lot from her on this episode even if you are not a parent. We do talk about how to handle those moments when kids act up.

Three words: Fight, flight Freeze

The question I ask many of our guest "if the kids do not get along while you are dating, do you keep dating? Satya stumped me on this.

A little more about her:

o Satya is a Certified Parent Coach and Founder of Turning Point Parenting. She is deeply passionate about her work and her enthusiasm and experience working with people for over 25 years has allowed her the keen insight in creating a safe environment for parents to share all of the rewarding and challenges that come with parenting.

o Satya has a degree in Business Management with a major in Organizational Behavior.

o She was featured in the book, “Magnetic Service” by customer service guru, Dr. Chip R. Bell.

o Small Business Administration Success Story o Asked to speak last year at Dr. Thaddeus Gala’s The Longevity Summit on Creating Productive Relationships.

o She is the Lead Trainer at The Jai Institute for Parenting and made the cover of the book 100% Parent. o She speaks and is on panels at annual Jai Live Event in LA.

o She’s truly living her purpose helping parents create happy and healthy homes!

Patrick Boone is a coach who walks the talk when it comes to serving others. Patrick has seen his marriage grow because of learning what was not working trying to communicate with his wife.

While going through his Project Management Certificate, Partick discovered he could use that training to help his family and others.

I will warn you that I do get on my soap box about parents and youth sports. I might get some people deleting me from their social lives.
