"Father's Eve is about spending time with your buddies; Father's Day is about spending time with family."
Happy days are ahead of us. I really do believe that in my mind. Please can you help me with three items?
Thank you, and now on with the show notes.
My guest is the Founder of "Father's Eve," John Francis. He will walk you through how this idea came about (in a garage).
Many of the organizations that John will mention have been on this podcast or have a connection to the podcast:
During my into, I talk about another guest Brett Zachman with BeMen.
John will tell you the 5 rules (don't have any drink in your mouth when you hear rule number one) that Father's eve has, and I was shocked to learn that he has been doing this since 2012. What started with guys hanging in a garage to now has started to get World Wide exposure.
My personal hope is that we can have Father's Eve 2020 in person, but if not, then a virtual party will still be fun to be a part of.
You can learn more about John and how you can have your own event on the website: https://fatherseve.com
Let's get the word out and start building a community to help support both dads and men going forward.

Welcome to a virtual breakthrough.
Welcome to episode 153 and one where I was very nervous. When you are interviewing a Ph.D. and well you, are some goofball with a mic there is some nerves involved.
Dr. Elizabeth was a great guest and her book really helped me with a breakthrough that you will hear about. Enough about me here is more about our guest.
I’m a professor at Georgetown University who teaches about international security. My passion is understanding the social structures that drive human behavior—especially during stress, trauma, uncertainty, and conflict.
This has led me to teach, speak, and write about a wide range of topics:

Another guest who I wish had come up with their idea when I was going through my divorce. Today on the podcast my guest is the Founder of the co-parenting App DComply Marco Munoz.
Marco and I talk in length why family courts are a joke and for you and you're former to do your best to stay out of them.
Marco and his wife are married but not really. It was a moment on the show where I was speechless.
What was Marco's pain point of coming up with an App and not being a tech person?
Marco even talks about how as a customer he was able to recoup $3,500 from his former.
I am so amazed at the technology and you will sit there and say to yourself "why didn't I think of that?"
You can find out all about the App and the team behind it at:

Three Questions to Help with Your Relationship
I think I have been enlightened by a previous guest. Taj Dashaun mentioned in episode 149 his three questions. To me, after hearing them I felt that these would be used within our relationships.
My wife mentioned that a couples therapist could use these questions when working with a brand new couple and they could track to see if the couple has growth after a period of time.
You can even use the questions with your kids to even see how you are doing as a parent.
Please let me know your responses and I would like to share them on an upcoming podcast (don't worry I will change your name).

Warning: Wash Your Ears After Listening To This Episode.
This is episode 150!! I am so shocked and I want to thank Doug Foresta (@dqueensbard on IG). Doug was my podcasting coach and walked me through putting a podcast together and getting it uploaded. So, Doug, THANK YOU!
Thank you for downloading my podcasts. Each and every time I create a new episode I hope it brings you value.
Thanks to all of the guests who have taken their time to come on. My hope is that I am asking thought-provoking questions. This why I have our voice guy mention that this is a "conversation and not an interview."
I am very excited to share with you this special episode because I was thinking about calling it quits with the not just the podcast but even finishing up my book and try and just find (dare I say it) a new dreaded day job. However, this episode with Johnny really helped me get the energy I needed to keep pressing forward.
I know Johnny was on episode 145 but I just love talking with him and come on, this is episode 150 we needed something goofy to celebrate.
You can find Johnny:

How to Thrive after Sports
Are you doing well during this time? I really hope you are and if you need me I am here for you. In this episode, I am happy you came by to listen. My guest is the owner of "Thrive After Sports," Taj Dashaun and it is a needed topic as many of our youth athletes are not able to attend their sports.
From Taj's Linkedin Bio:
I help athletes discover their new identity and life's direction after sports. I believe that what drove us in athletics, still drives us now. All it takes is a little guidance and a push in the right direction.
When I first stepped away from the game I love, I struggled heavily with depression. I had never fully developed a clear vision for my life after football. I knew I wanted to get a “good job”, make “a ton of money” and be “successful”, but I felt lost and overwhelmed having no idea what I wanted to do with my life.
After several years of stumbling around in the dark, I began to take my eyes off of myself and focus on serving others. I now run an intensive program for athletes who are struggling to adapt to life after sports. Not only do I help former athletes land jobs and start businesses, I help them find fulfillment in every single area of their lives.
It's become my personal mission to reach out and help others overcome the fear, frustration, and uncertainty associated with life post-athletics. The question to ask oneself after hanging up the jersey isn’t: “who am I now?” The question is: “who do I want to become, and why?”

We not only speak about how we parents can help our kids with their dreams of being a professional athlete (if they choose) but just navigating through the college process as far as why a certain major might not fit your athletes' sport.
What do you bring to the world? This turns out to be part of a discussion that I really want you to listen to because it can also deal with your relationships.
You might need to have an adult conversation with your student-athlete but you might need to bring some humor along with honesty.
As promised during this episode, the Jim Rohn quote.
“You are the average of the five people you spend the most time with.”
Please be safe out there, live in gratitude and wash your hands.
