Welcome to this week's episode with the authors of the book "Our Happy Divorce" Nikki Debartolo and Benjamin Heldfond. After speaking with Nikki and Ben, I have learned that there is a better way to co-parent.
We talked about how to co-parent during the Coronavirus. You might be shocked at how Nikki and Ben stepped up to blend their family with having each other's spouses and kids under one roof. They even live Seven houses from each other.
While we were talking, I mentioned to Nikki and Ben about Erika Englund from episode 160 and how she and her family came up with celebrating after her divorce the day she got married to her now-former husband. Erika created "Familyversary."
Nikki talked about how her husband Chad came to their son Asher to get permission to ask his mom to marry him.

Sonia is a Miami food blogger and founder of Divorceify. She is an attorney and prisoner of food, who is obsessive about food photography, and will do just about anything for a soup dumpling. As a divorce and family law litigator, Sonia witnessed the confusion, inflexibility, and inefficiencies inherent to the adversarial divorce process; the archaic one-size fits all system often made it unnecessarily difficult to achieve her client’s goals.
She saw the value of using technology to simplify and streamline the process, thus saving her clients time, money and stress. Having experienced her own divorce, Sonia truly appreciates the importance of building a reliable and trustworthy support team. Despite her deep legal understanding of the law, she quickly realized she couldn’t face her own divorce alone. Sonia reached out and created a multi-disciplinary team to support her process – a safe space, where she could begin her personal divorce journey and find her road to recovery. Sonia founded Divorceify to create a safe, confidential space for people to receive the holistic support they need as they navigate divorce and re-build their lives.
Sonia wants to provide others with the same team approach that she found so helpful – surround yourself with professionals who really “get it” and you become empowered to embrace the next chapter and build a bright future. Sonia is originally from Barcelona and is fluent in Spanish and Catalan. She is currently living in Miami Beach, Florida overlooking the Atlantic ocean. In her spare time, she enjoys cooking, food photography, consulting with other small businesses, yoga, traveling, and spending time with her cat, Bella. She is a graduate of Northeastern University School of Law in Boston, and American University in Washington, D.C.

My guest today is someone I have been working to get onto the show for two years. He is a hard man to get a sit down with because he is so busy with his purpose in life. Plus he is rubbing elbows with the Royal Family.
Mark Williams is a Keynote Speaker, Author, and International Campaigner. He founded International Fathers Mental Health Day and the #HowAreYouDad Campaign to help ensure that all parents and families are supported throughout the perinatal period.
Mark has spoken on television and radio stations around the world. Working alongside Dr. Jane Hanley, he has published articles on Fathers (Paternal) Mental Health.
In 2012, Mark was awarded “Inspirational Father of the year” and “Local Hero” at the Pride of Britain Awards. On World Mental Health Day in 2016, Mark was invited to meet The Royal Family and in 2019 he was awarded the Point Of Light Award by the Prime Minister.
Mark is also an Ambassador for Mother's for Mother's Charity.
Mark and I really go into the weeds of mental health. We talk about his struggles while his son was being born.
Please check out his TEDx Talk.
This episode means a lot to me because of the aspect of men's mental health. Please share this with men/dads who are in need of understanding that we men need to let other men know when we need help.

Hello, from the penalty box, a little hockey humor there. Today I am so excited to talk with Columnist for USA Hockey Magazine, Christie Casciano Burns. Yes, we are talking about hockey in July. If you are a hockey parent, you will understand that the season never really ends.
Christie's Bio:
Emmy nominated veteran anchor, and author Christie Casciano is a graduate of Syracuse University's Newhouse School of Public Communications. After reporting for WROC-TV in Rochester, Christie was eager to return home to her big Italian family in Syracuse to join the NewsChannel 9 team and the station she grew up watching.
Christie anchors NewsChannel 9 First at 4:00, NewsChannel 9 at 5:00, 5:30, 6:00, and Eleven at 11:00 with Rod Wood. Christie has covered many important stories that have impacted the Central New York community and developed NewsChannel 9's OnTheLookout.net, a crime franchise that has been recognized statewide for its efforts to help keep neighborhoods safe. Each week Christie profiles wanted criminals, and her reporting has helped police solve hundreds of cases.
She is the recipient of numerous community and professional awards, including the Syracuse Press Club's Professional Standards Award, and received a proclamation from the Onondaga County Executive naming December 29, 2012, as Christie Casciano Day. Christie's investigative series on the heroin epidemic earned her an Emmy nomination and the prestigious Edward R. Murrow Award.
Christie is a proud hockey mom and has written three hockey-themed books; Haunted Hockey in Lake Placid, The Puck Hog, and My Kids Play Hockey, have sold to hockey parents across the country. Her monthly hockey mom columns have become required reading for the half-million readers of USA Hockey Magazine. She also teamed up with NewsChannel 9's Lou Gulino and Tim Fox to write "Syracuse Television History." She also had the privilege of flying with the Thunderbirds in an F-16 Fighter Jet and pulled 9-G's!

When the guest says to you, "that's been an hour?" I take that as a compliment. I was able to hear from Christie's point of view about being a hockey parent. At one part of our conversation, she started to interview me. That was wonderful. What a delight Chrisite was, and I hope she comes back on.
