Today's guest is Adam Burns. Who is Adam?
Adam is a communications professional, a basketball super fan, a horrible dancer, a lover of books, a hater of celery, and most importantly, a husband and father. He is also a co-producer and co-host of the Dads Group podcast, which helps fathers and families through positive, constructive, and inspiring conversations.
I want to mention that Adam and I had a blast recording this episode. He brought some great knowledge as well as fun to the conversation.
Adam talks a lot about both his dad and his bonus dad. Please listen to that part as it is very heartfelt.

An Ordinary Dad Having An Extraordinary Amount Of Fun! |
Welcome to Blending the Family; I am your podcast host, Tommy Maloney.
What exactly is this podcast Blending the Family about? Great question.
Yes, the title might sometimes fool you, as I do talk about blended families, bonus parenting, and mental health. To name a few topics.
What is bonus parenting, you might ask? In our family, we believe the word step has a negative meaning versus the word bonus. Please email me and let me know if you agree or disagree with me.
Email: tommy@blendingthefamily.com
Guests on the podcast have spoken in the past about topics like marrying a narcissist, using technology for co-parenting, and even what is a good wine for a first date or having a budget meeting with your significant other. The answer is Pinot Noir, but I am more of a Tempranillo type.
You might be asking, who is Tommy Maloney? Well…
I am the Executive producer and host of the podcast Blending The Family, where you can find Apple Podcasts, Iheart Radio, and YouTube.

Tommy enjoys a glass of red wine while writing or hiding from the family. A dad to Betsy, Becca, Connor, and dogs Duke (RIP) and Otis. A husband to Ann, where they live (when Tommy is home) in Greeley, Colorado.

Our guest this week is the Founder of Project Helping, Justin Kruger. A bit more about Justin.
BIO:
Justin is the Founder and CEO of Project Helping, a Denver-based mental wellness organization. He grew up in a ridiculously small town in Iowa. He studied finance and economics, which he now doesn’t use. He instead played golf professionally before starting a career in the golf industry. Over 15 years, he did all the jobs one could find in this industry, most notably staying with PING golf for almost 10 years. His struggle with mental wellness led him to leave the golf business behind to start Project Helping and provide purpose, connection, and mental wellness through kyndfulness.

My guest is Denise Boehler, who is my hero when it comes to serving the fur baby community.
BIO:
Do you need help getting a homeless animal's story out there? Would you like to impart the happy ending to your donors, of a successful adoption story for your website? Do you need help writing a grant and lack the time and skills needed to get your mission and needs across?
Research and writing is what I do. Deep listening, processing, inquiry and creating through the written word is all part of the process of human communication. Whether it's writing from the heart, immersing in the intellect, or combining it to convey your needs in the clearest possible language, I am honored to be of service.
After years of writing legal publications, I now spend my days writing about animals in need -- of a voice for their rights, of a word for their situation. I draw from the ground of ecopsychology, which allows me to infuse my work with the Buddhist philosophy of compassion and a return to a holistic, more connective relationship with nature.
What are your needs?
· Are you a nonprofit in need of a passionate, experienced and ecopsychology trained animal advocate?
· Are you a rescue dog organization who just needs to get the story out there, but you don't have the time to write it?
