The authors of the book “Daily Bread for the Starving Stepmom” Laurabeth Hoisington and Melanie Anthony join me on the podcast to talk about their ministry The Starving Stepmom. These two ladies created a devotional book that was truly inspired by a “Higher Power.”

  • Pain of the biological parent when having to pick between their kids and their marriage.
  • The question comes up again “should the kids come first” when dating with kids?
  • The benefits of premarital counseling.
  • Do churches have a “blind eye” in the world of blended families?
  • The article we mentioned from the Huffington Post.
  • How can women help men with communication?
  • Who is the “Starving Stepmom.”
  • Tweet them @starvingstepmom

This episode was a bit personal because of the struggles trying to find my own faith. Honestly the message that Melanie and Laurabeth bring is of great value to any family.  For example I find myself doing more Bible reading to just to look for more of a perspective as my life has its down days. Currently I am reading the Book of Proverbs. Lately there are things that I am doing where the foundation is very much faith based. My wife Ann and I are going through the Dave Ramsey Financial Peace University; one of the speakers for the course is a New York Times Bestselling Author Jon Acuff. One of Jon’s books is titled “Start” and this is one of the books that I am reading.

Have fun listing to this episode with the Starving Step Mom’s.
